Chelsea fc ban as Owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK government

Chelsea FC ban imposed UK government’s sanction of Russian owner Roman Abramovich.

CHELSEA FC has been BANNED from selling match tickets, and only season ticket holders can attend games, following the UK government’s sanction of Russian owner Roman Abramovich.

Abramovich’s assets have been frozen due to his close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, leaving the European champions in limbo.

The United Kingdom froze the assets of Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich as Boris Johnson’s government stepped up sanctions against prominent Russians in response to the invasion of Ukraine.

Johnson has been under intense pressure to expedite sanctions against Russians suspected of having close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Foreign Office stated in its statement that the United Kingdom is the first country to sanction Abramovich.

Following the UK Government’s sanctioning of Roman Abramovich, Chelsea Football Club has been barred from offering new contracts to players and engaging in transfer activities.

The owner listed the club for sale on March 2, but the sale has been halted due to the sanctioning though many suggest that a Special license could allow Chelsea sale.

Roman Abramovich has had “his assets frozen, a prohibition on transactions with UK individuals and businesses, a travel ban, and transportation sanctions imposed.”

 

Chelsea FC has the following bans now

• Providing new contracts to players or staff-Antonio Rudiger,Andreas Christensen,and Cesar Azpilicueta’s contracts are set to expire on June 30.Carrying out any official transfer business
• Selling new tickets to any game for any of their teams,including women’s and junior teams(season-ticket holders and existing ticket holders only)
• Providing merchandise to fans(existing merchandise can be sold via third parties)
• There will be no stadium construction or redevelopment.
• Over £500,000 spent limit on security,stewarding,and catering costs per home match,and over £20,000 is spent on away games.
